The role

Look no further, as Understatement Underwear is seeking a dynamic Brand Marketing Manager to join our team and elevate our marketing efforts to new heights.
As our first ever Brand Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for enhancing and growing our brand globally through creative marketing activities, campaigns, storytelling activities, and partnerships that captivate our audience, enhance brand visibility, and drive engagement.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with our creative, marketing, and sales teams to craft and deliver impactful messages across multiple channels. You will develop and execute marketing campaigns, build and nurture relationships with key partners, and analyze market trends to inform our strategies. Your creativity, strategic thinking, and passion for our mission will be key in positioning Understatement Underwear as a leader in the industry.

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute yearly global marketing plan based on company strategy
- Develop and execute local go-to-market plans, creating tactics and communication that deliver our messaging and generate press attention across channels - together with local partners and external agencies
- Product Marketing: Facilitate successful product and category launches by creating go-to-market plans, positioning and messaging
- Lead Partnerships and Collaborations: Ideate and execute collaborations ranging from co-developed products to sponsorships, marketing partnerships and ambassadors
- Project Management: Plan and implement projects such as pop-up stores and other brand-promoting activities effectively
- Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities, optimizing our marketing plans
- Brand Strategy Development: Assist in the development and refinement of the overall brand strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals and market trends
- Social Media Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy, managing our social media communities
- PR: Work with our PR agencies to increase brand awareness and ensure a positive public image
- Budget Management: Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to maximize ROI
Requirements:
90% of Understatement’s business is generated from outside Sweden. We therefore aim for a person that has extensive global experience from a consumer business.
- At least Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, PR, Communications, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the fashion, lifestyle or CPG industry
- Global experience
- Extremely organized and excellent project management skills and proven experience in organizing events and brand activations
- Experience working with PR agencies and managing sponsorship projects
- Creative thinking and the ability to develop innovative marketing strategies
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Fluent in English, any other language a bonus
We believe you’re an excellent communicator who enjoys relationships in all forms - whether it is supporting the day-to-day business or maintaining relationships with press, partners and other stakeholders.
You’re not only a marketing hero but have a strong interest in the consumer business industry and brands in general. You’re on top of which brands are killing it globally, upcoming consumer trends and outstanding marketing stunts.

Your team: you (to start with)
You will run the marketing efforts on your own meaning there are no juniors or assistants or anyone else on your team. We don’t believe that we need many resources to tackle marketing but only a smart and driven person being a great collaborator. Our approach is “done is better than perfect” and “one person will get 95% done, let’s not optimise the last 5% at triple the cost of the first 95%”.
This doesn’t mean you should be a lonely wolf but the opposite, a team player as you’ll work tight with all other colleagues at Understatement, especially our creative & content team.
